Vision Statement: I feel my previous term as domain coordinator was successful. In the past year 11 out of 12 reports have been handed in on time, the one exception was handed in one day late.. We have had an increased number of socials which have been very successful. Membership is still consistent. My vision for the club is to continue to increase membership, hand reports in on time, and continue with social events as well as charity events and drives. I would also like to assist members to make sure we have an accurate prestige log for each person so that when trying to claim MC 9 or higher there is no confusion or delay. The DC is involved, thankless, requires an array of skills from math, to writing, to personnel management. Are you running to ensure your domain has someone performing this key role, or is there any other reason you want the job? Mind you, filling a key role is perfectly fine in my book. 6 person domain that we are. 2. Having served in this role already, what unexpected challenges have you encountered? What would you like to see done to change them, even if it something you cannot directly control yourself, ie. I would like there to be no bugs at the luau event? The DC is involved, thankless, requires an array of skills from math, to writing, to personnel management. Are you running to ensure your domain has someone performing this key role, or is there any other reason you want the job? In all honesty I am doing it for both reasons. I do believe that it is important and necessary to have the role filled, but also, I know that if the job is not done correctly or if something fails in regards to these areas it is my fault. I have also enjoyed the role of DC in the past and would like to keep the position. 2. Having served in this role already, what unexpected challenges have you encountered? What would you like to see done to change them, even if it something you cannot directly control yourself, ie. I would like there to be no bugs at the luau event? The biggest problem I have found and I know it's not just while I've been in office, but it has been an issue, has been recruitment. We have had some new members, but we have also have had some members leave as well. I would like to see us have more people involved in our organization and would love if anyone had any suggestions. I've posted game announcements to other websites and message boards and other visitors who have come to some of the games. Again I'm willing to hear any suggestions. I would also just like to state that please don't say it is a foregone conclusion, if people think that the job I've done in the past is not worth reelecting me please don't. I don't want to be put here if it is not in the best interest of the domain. -- Thank you for your time, Melissa McDowell US2004082008 DC RI-002-D dc at camarillaprovidence.org AIM,YAHOO,MSN: (search for) ricamgirl From tkitch at gmail.com Tue Sep 15 05:50:41 2009 From: tkitch at gmail.com (Mike ''Thrasher'' Kitchenman) Date: Tue, 15 Sep 2009 08:50:41 -0400 Subject: [CamRI] Fwd: [North East Region] No Hospitality Room at ICC In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: FYI! -Kitch US2007039619 ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Regional Coordinator Date: Tue, Sep 15, 2009 at 8:45 AM Subject: [North East Region] No Hospitality Room at ICC To: OOC list for all members in the NE region < us-ne-region at cammail.white-wolf.com> Some of you may be aware of this from other lists but if you have not already heard, there will be no Hospitality Room at ICC this year. Due to a scheduling issue I find myself lacking a child-watcher for Saturday. The Ruggerios have offered to let them be corralled in the bedroom whilst we get our Mage on. We could also run both games at the McDowell house, in which case the children (including Alexis and any others that appear) could be contained in a larger space with toys and such to keep them busy and -slightly- less complainy. And of course, they could just laugh. Secondly, I referred to people who type "lawl" as in those who type the incorrect phonetic spelling of LOL. LOL was made as a short way of typing "laugh out loud" as an alternative to ":D". It became cool to use l33t speak in verbal conversation, and the monkeys started saying "lawl". So far so good. Now, however, there are people TYPING "LAWL". This completely negates the purpose of the phrase "lol" as it actually takes more letters to type! I still don't understand how the universe doesn't collapse every time some pink-hat wearing momo decides they're too cool to use even the made up words of the "internets" *shudder*, let alone the pesky nuances of English, or hell, any nation-affiliated language for that matter. That's to both the new, old and visitors. There were some great scenes and character development, whether it was the PJ and the scooby doo gang from hell taking on ghosts, city unity stomping on all challengers, gasps at Lugo defining that faith taste's like spinach, or the tear jerking confession Vermidian held. Great game that reaffirmed why its good to be an ST. Shout out to my man Herb for the ST like back up as always. Now on to next month, I have been rather remiss not announcing games in event. So here's my scheduled available dates with some notes; OCT 17th - I am working and cannot run game that night! This is our usual game. Oct 3rd - 1st weekend - conflicts with NYC and probably won't affect us due to distance. Oct 10th - Conflicts with Norwich, also I'd like to go to this game as I have had to work the last 4 months of it. Oct 11th - SUNDAY of the long holiday, also my Birthday but I am willing if people are excited Oct 24th - This bumps heads with Boston. Oct 31st - While Halloween is a cool night to play, we also have kids in the domain and I don't that's fair... besides i am working that one too. Your thoughts appreciated. PS There was mention of Apple picking contact my wife if you have interest, but I will be working this weekend. I don't like this day because its nigh impossible to hard stop at 11. Saturday 3rd - half the hosts would be late. Very short notice. Friday 9th Saturday 10th - I expect birthday cake at midnight. Friday 23rd Sat 24th Please list yes if you would attend that date and no if you won't ( I don't need the reason I just need head count.) Depending on results I may run two separate games that are more focused on each set of characters arriving.
