Members, Past policy of this office's towards custom applications for Requiem devotions and bloodlines has created a situation whereby there are several hundred examples of custom mechanics within the venue. Such applications were carefully scrutinized to ensure game balance and the avoidance of exploitations through power combinations. But with the regular release of new material both in the form of White Wolf published mechanics and new custom powers, such exploitations have briefly or not so briefly made their impacts upon everyone's game. In addition, the continually growing number of custom mechanics have made life increasingly difficult for players and storytellers at all levels to keep track. As of November 1 no further applications for custom devotions or custom bloodlines will be accepted. We will continue to review any applications already in the database at the time this change comes into effect. Applications to learn currently existing approval items are still viable and will be reviewed and processed as normal. Now that we are this far into nWoD there are a wide range of books available offering permutations and customization options, in addition to the numerous already existing custom mechanics. It is difficult if not impossible to safely integrate new custom powers into the venue without an unreasonable chance of unforeseen consequences or further burden on players and STs.
