Assembled,
First, my apologies for getting this out so late. Jon started the ball on this one and I've picked it up. However, since we only have one candidate, I'm going to truncate the Q&A phase, and the voting phase, into a single week. My sole candidate, at present, is Jon McDowell. His application is listed below.
Players are encouraged to ask questions of the applicant, as they pertain to the future of Providence and the role of the DST. In the meantime, please send your votes, per the Membership Handbook, to myself (shadowside21 at hotmail dot com) and to my CoS, Matt Pester (blu3l10n at gmail dot com). The deadline for voting will be April 9th, Noon. Any questions or concerns can be sent to me privately.
Candidates:
1. None of the Above
2. Jon McDowell

> Please accept the following as my application for DST of RI-002.

>
> 2. Brief Vision Statement
> None of us have as much free time as we did. We all have
> lives that demand our attention. With online, or heaven forbid
> board games, so close at hand, why spend an hour travelling to sit
> and wait for other people to show up so you can play for an hour?
> I agree.
> As DST, I will work with the staff, with Regional, and with
> YOU to create events which interest you and are worth your time.
> Thank you.
>
>
> 3. Camarilla experience:
> I will beg indulgence on the dates below, they are approximations.
> Thank
> you.
> ADC Education: 2001 (roughly 6 mos.)
> CST Vampire: 2002
> NWOD Ordeal Development Team Member: 2004-2005
> DC RI-002: 01/2005 – 1/2007
> DST RI-002: 3/2007 - Present
>
> Relevant Non-Camarilla experience-:
> - Sr. IT Support Analyst; Commended for leadership, public
> speaking, creative thinking, and teamwork
> - Volunteer for my parish as lector and celebratory assistant;
> noted for varied service, commitment, and public speaking
>
> 4. Any disciplinary action or related Storyteller/Coordinator
> actions taken against you in the Camarilla, with details of nature
> and extent:
> Nothing to report.
>
> Vision Statement
>
> It is clear that the future of this club demands passionate
> leadership by people who have the desire and ability to examine
> what the members need and give it to them. This takes lots of time
> and a team effort by the entire staff to plan events that you want
> to be a part of and to foster passion within you to attend,
> participate, and work yourself to expand on.
> The current position of DST should not be focused
> on storytelling. We have two proven and passionate VSTs in place
> running stories that are attracting immediate attention from their
> venues. The DST will need to ensure compliance with Cam standards,
> but the brunt of the work will be done by the VSTs, and done well.
> The DST will need to take a lead role in promoting the plots,
> handling administrative duties, working with players, etc. to
> ensure that the VSTs have the freedom to do their jobs and the
> players have time to enjoy the stories with as little burden as
> possible. In short, the DST needs to be an interface which makes
> the process of playing in our club smooth and easy.
>
> Goals:
> To Regional Staff:
> 1. On Time reports; every month, no exceptions.
> 2. Active pursuit of current storylines which can be added to
> local plot for a more enriching experience.
>
> To DC Staff:
> 1. On Time Prestige Reccomendations for all ST staffers
> 2. Complete Teasers and game location/time suggestions submitted
> at the start of each month and refreshed as needed based on DT events.
>
> To VST Staff:
> 1. Handling of any AVST/Narrator responsibilities as needed
> 2. Pre-built form for ST reports
> 3. Seperate plots which will run alongside Venue plots but not
> overpower, thus presenting the VSTs with a chance to play their
> characters as well.
>
> To Players:
> 1. A coherent setting from venue to venue, echoing the darkness
> which both VSTs have stated they wish to emphasize.
> 2. A reference map of the IC Game Area, with as much detail and
> accuracy as I can provide.
> 3. An ongoing Domain plots which will continue behind the scenes,
> with interaction planned for or available to all venues equally.
> 4. A coordinated history of the chronicle, updated as events unfold.
> 5. Foster regular online events between game sessions.
>
> To Club:
> 1. Work with the DC to develop, advertise, and run events
> unrelated to game sessions.
>
> Closing:
>
> Thank you for your support.
...
Sincerely,
Dain Geist
