Good Evening,
The following news report appears on local Fox and ABC news
stations and will quickly circulate through the general populace
chatter.
IC:
Providence: Has police brutality reached a new high? Witnesses say a
city mounted patrolman shot a man during the the special Waterfire
event in down town Providence on Friday night. Witnesses say a
homeless man was making a nuisance at the water side when a mounted
officer rode through a gathered crowd and warned him to lay down.
Within seconds, the man lunged at the officer's horse, apparently
trying to pull the policeman from the saddle. The patrolman responded
by drawing his weapon and firing twice at his assailant. Witnesses
claim the officer purposely aimed for the man's head and that the
unfortunate victim is lucky to be alive. Undercover officers arrived
on scene shortly thereafter and took the man into custody. One woman
claims she heard the victim screaming and thrashing wildly as he was
cuffed and that he seemed to be mentally-ill. Several local charity
organizations have stepped up to offer free treatment should the
victim need any assistance. Providence police have refused to release
the name of the officer or the detained suspect at this time.
